love s.florida vs alabama. take the 18 now. it will go down. i promise. s.florida is a good ball club. bama is in a mess. shula has talent but dam, his troops have learned too many systems the past couple of years. brodie coyle is a fine qb but hell he must be scatter brain by now. this all points to s.florida. they had a great year last year. rolling at the end of the season. the should bring a little respectability to cusa. just my opinion. btw sooners come to bama the week after. vanilla for bama, national championship for s.florida. oh, by the way leroy selmon is the ad at sflorida.

i really like minnesota over tulsa too. tulsa travels with a new coach and only 3 returning starters on a defense that most high schools could score on. top that off with tyler gooch (great qb on bad team) going to play baseball. minn isnt bad and should build some confidence here. they opened last year with a 42-0 victory. looks like the points have dropped to 30. hammer it. my first two games fellas. best of luck to all.

Agree with the S.Florida pick.

Bama plays Oklahoma the next week. S.Florida coach has to feel like he has something to prove since Bama bypassed him this past Spring. Don't see how Bama can be clicking on all cylinders to cover the number this early in the season. There is a lot of pressure on Shula. Not sure that his team will respond all that well early on.

If you go against Tulsa week in and week you will win more than you lose. However, with the new coach, the attitude might be different.

spirit may be different but the players still stink. i am from oklahoma. and what kind of coach would take a dead end job like tulsa. they recruit against ou,osu, missou, kstate, kansas, texas, arkansas. they will always stink. they have thought about dropping fball. i think they should. baylor would be a 14.5 favorite over this squad. just my opinion.

Gob,

whats your take on N.Tx/OU? can the mean green stay inside the number? will jason white play majority of game since he's played so little past two yrs? will receiving corps take up slack left by savage and fagan? this time of year its hot everywhere so both teams will sub freely, but at what point does stoops start playing for the following week against Bama?

the bama sooner game is a big deal to these folks. remember all the hype last year. bear bryant, switzer, bud wilkinson, ect. cball is life for folks down here. i believe ou will not cover 35. thats what it will be by kick here locally. ou still has folks fighting for the official nod for starting positions. this game will be vanilla for ou. last year the sooners started with tulsa. they were only winning by 7 at the half. basically ou will just run, run, run. white will get some reps, but will not run the ball. tune up is an understatement here. love ntexas at 35.

Will People's injury does worry me a bit. Have you heard anything about that? I'm hearing anywhere from 1-6 games that he could miss.

how are you mr tanaka. always good to see a fellow sooner at the rx. defense wins championships. i dont see much passing the first game. it will be heavy on the run. white will get his reps though. looking for this one to be 35 by kick here locally. take the points. ball and clock control for the first game. haven't seen much on peoples statis. but there is a nice college fball preview in the daily oklahoman today. covers both school. check it out. gl this season.

Will N.Texas score?

Their offence is not at all intiminating. A shutout is very possible. Further, the OU defense not only will dominate, but likely will score some points. Huge special teams edge to OU, but that is not a surprise to anyone. I am reluctant to play a team that I think will have severe problems scoring. I would pass on this game.

ntexas isn't a bad ball club. yes it will be tough for them to score. but i am telling you they are still fighting for starting positions. run, run, run. they will keep the fellas fresh for the journey to bama. i can't say vanilla enough. but yes there is always that possibility that they could still blow out ntexas with just the basic power run and eat the clock. not likely. just to add, many of the fellas playing for ntexas are from oklahoma. ntexas is just 2 hours from oklahoma city. many of these players were over looked by the sooners. their families will be there to watch. i see them playing their asses off. just like the guys at okie state do because of the pissed off factor. i love ntexas at 35. check ou's first game every year in the stoops era. ntexas does have a real solid defense. 35 points is way too much. this from a born and bred sooner.

don't see it happening here. minn will score at will on a defense that most high schools could of scored on. only 3 starters return from that terrible squad. they have a new coach as well. this dumb ass already said they will suck this year in the local papers. top that off with the only good player (tyler gooch at qb) left to play baseball at ou. what a dead end job. minny's second team could rack 35 on this defense. just my opinion. hell i could be wrong. guess we will see. gl to you this season vegas.

Goblin:

Good Luck. N.Texas may just be scrappy enough to get the cover. I agree that they will play with emotion and that could very well be the difference.
